What is Rest Assured?

This is a new project that has culminated from years of artistic collaboration between Director/Writer Olivia Crowell, Co-Writer Liam Caplan, and producer Maya Barbon. Producer Robert Ravenscroft from Pan Up Productions and Cinematographer Bill Kirstein (Mean Girls [2024], Happyend [2024]) help round out the production team. Actor James Duval (Donnie Darko, Independence Day), Internet personality and comedian Vienna Ayla (1.1M TikTok, 225k Instagram), and Alex O’Shea (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, FBI: Most Wanted, The Mark), have been brought on as talent.

Director’s Note:

I’m drawn to films with painfully real characters whose conflicts feel authentic. To ground a viewer in an absurd circumstance, to me that is movie magic. As a fan of dark comedy, I find humor in the struggles of being human. Insomnia, a topic I know well, feels fresh compared to other explored hardships. This film says that deeply personal and isolating problems are counterintuitively best faced together. And that most suffering is derived from fighting your pain, not the pain itself. People need people, and that’s how I know we are making a film full of life.
